How to Add a Hazard or Feature

How to Add a Hazard or Feature

Overview

Hazards are added directly from the HazView map. Each hazard includes location, description, controls, photos and associated actions. Red fields are mandatory.

All submissions create an in-app notification for your site.

When to Use

• When a new hazard is identified
• When logging features such as sump markers, intersections or infrastructure items

Add a Hazard or Feature

Step 1. Select Add Hazard

Select the Add Hazard button.

Step 2. Fill in the details

Fill in the fields from top to bottom.

Red boxes must be completed before you can submit. If you missed a mandatory property a prompt at the bottom of your screen will appear when you try and submit.

Step 3. Place the hazard/feature icon:

Every hazard/feature must have an icon placed on the map.

Tap once on the map to select where you want the icon to be. This will show as a blue circle.

Step 4. Add an area if required

If the hazard covers a zone, select the polygon tool on the right of your map.
Click around the boundary to form a closed shape.
Double click to remove a point.
Click and hold to drag points to adjust the shape.

Tip: If you want a circular standoff, use the circle icon below the polygon tool.

Step 6. Add controls and actions

You can assign controls, accountability (general text or tax users with @name) and due dates.
These appear in the home page and help track outstanding work.

Step 7. Add photos and files

Select Add Media to attach images or documents.
This works offline and will sync when online.

Step 8. Submit

Select Submit to finalise the hazard.
All users receive an alert.
The hazard now appears on the map.

Tips

• Swipe up on the form to see all fields
• Add photos even when offline
• Use clear descriptions to help supervisors during handover
• Large areas can be adjusted after placement

Troubleshooting

• If the map does not respond, ensure you have network coverage or allow a few seconds for offline mode to load
• If placement fails or you want to reset everything, close the form and select Add Hazard again.
